Warranty Information

Lounge

Dining Entertainment and Occasional

Bedroom

Warranty is from date of purchase, is for the original purchaser and is not transferrable.

This warranty applies only to furniture used for domestic purposes.

We will fulfill our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act and shall at our discretion, repair or replace the parts which it determines is defective.

If you need to make a claim under warranty, please contact the Service Department on 0800 SERV ONE. You must provide the original sale receipt as proof of purchase date.

This warranty does not extend to, or cover furniture which in our opinion is:

  • Worn by wear and tear
  • Faded
  • Defective by abuse, misuse or negligence, lack of care or accidents.
  • Cut
  • Burned
  • Pet damage

All furniture is affected by sunlight  and heat, and even the most colour-fast material can fade.  All furniture should be protected from direct sunlight and should never be placed next to a heat source.

Lounge

Please treat with respect.

Do not jump, rock, stand, lean back, swing, climb or play on! Evidence of this will negate the warranty.

Leather in its natural state will have variations in colour, markings and grain.  These are not to be considered defects under this warranty.   Leather conditioner must be applied at least twice per year for the warranty to apply.  Nourish and condition as per your instructional DVD/video.

Move your suite by lifting the frame. Do not pull it by the arms as this may damage the upholstery to the frame.  The arms and backs of lounge suites and recliners are not designed for sitting on, and the weight may cause the frame to break.

Fabric is not warranted for fading unless the supplier of the fabric determines the fabric has faded for reasons other than direct or indirect light. Piling is not considered a fabric fault.

Beware of sharp objects (keys in back pockets, jewellery and watches) that may pull the weave of the fabric.

The dye from throw cushions, jeans or blankets can leech into the fabric and cause stains that won' t come out. Dyes are not covered under the warranty.

Our recliner frames are designed to carry weight up to 120kgs and this warranty is not valid if the usage exceed this weight.  Do not drop back into the recliner - recliner frames aren't designed to violently rock.

Do not confuse loss of foam resiliency with softening.  Cushions will soften through normal use and conform to the user's shape.  This is normal and is not considered a defect.  Over time, foam can lose 15-20% of its density.  All foam changes with use, so move cushions around if possible and don't always sit in the same place.  This will allow the padding to " settle" more evenly over the seat area, and it will become less " out of shape" with use. All filling used in cushions will soften and will settle slightly with normal use therefore, pillows must be fluffed regularly.

Unless otherwise specified, the warranty for lounge furniture are as follow:

  • 1 year stitching warranty
  • 1 year fabric warranty
  • 3 year foam and webbing warranty
  • 5 year frame warranty
  • 3 year leather warranty
  • 2 year Pellissima and faux leather warranty
  • 1 year recliner handle/pull warranty
  • 2 year recliner mechanism warranty

All semi-aniline leather suites carry a 10 year frame warranty, 5 year foam warranty and 5 year leather warranty. Semi-aniline leather recliners (120kg max) carry a 5 year mechanism warranty.

All LA-Z-BOY products carry a 10 year warranty on the frame and a 10 year warranty on foam.

LA-Z-BOY recliners (120kg max) carry a:

  • Lifetime warranty on the mechanism (to the original purchaser)
  • 10 year on the handle
  • 10 year on seat springs
  • 10 year on rocker springs

Dining, Entertainment, and Occasional Furniture

Please treat with respect.

Do not jump, rock, stand, lean back, swing, climb or play on! Evidence of these actions will negate the warranty.

Natural woodgrain and knots are not considered defects, but rather add to the natural look and character of the piece.

Do not rock backward on your dining chairs. It will cause the back legs to split. This is not covered under warranty. Do not ‘shunt’ tables – it will split the legs that is not covered under the warranty.
Protect all wooden surfaces from heat sources, including heaters and hot dishes/cups.

Do not allow animales near your wood furniture.

Unless otherwise specified, the warranty for Dining, Entertainment, and Occasional Furniture are as follow:

  • 2 year wooden warranty
  • 2 year dining chair warranty
  • 1 year glass warranty
  • 1 year bar stool warranty

Bedroom Furniture

Please treat with respect.

Do not jump, rock, stand, lean back, swing, climb, or play on! Evidence of these actions will negate the warranty.

Like shoes, mattresses contour to the user, and as a result, body impressions are likely - Particularly on pillowtop mattresses. These are expected, and unless they are major and deemed faulty by the supplier, are not covered under warranty.

Beds are a very personal item, and every body is different. A new bed can take some getting used to, particularly if the previous bed is old, cold and unsupportive. We suggest it normally takes 30 nights to get used to a new bed.

Once a bed has been slept on, it cannot be exchanged or returned, so choose carefully.

Jumping on a bed can cause spring and frame damage and is not covered under warranty. Most suppliers will not cover a mattress warranty if it has been placed on an old, unsupportive or incorrectly sized base.
Innerspring mattresses are not designed to bend (or be tied very tightly to a car roof). Permanent border wire damage can result and is not covered under warranty.

Bunks are designed for children and the weight of the average kid. Bunks are not designed for adult (or older or heavier children) use, and the weight may cause the slats to bend and break. Bent and broken slats as a result of excessive weight will not be covered under warranty. Bunks are not an adventure playground, and evidence of swinging, climbing, dragging, jumping and rocking will negate the warranty.
We recommend that we assemble the bunk. Bunks that are incorrectly assembled may be unsafe and cause injury. Bunks should never feel wobbly or loose. The mattress on the top bunk should never be taller than the safety rail.

Check out our Buyer's Guide to Beds for more information about bed care

Unless otherwise specified, the warranty for Bedroom furniture are as follow:

  • 5 year bed warranty
  • 2 year wooden furniture warranty
  • 1 year bunk warranty
  • 1 year foldaway bed warranty
